Working with UK healthcare professionals
We interact with healthcare professionals (HCPs) on everything from participation in early scientific research and clinical trial programmes - to sales and marketing; ensuring clinicians have the best access to information about our products so they can make appropriate prescribing decisions.
We also engage with health professionals who educate and deliver services to improve patient care.
Ultimately, patients benefit from the collaboration between HCPs and the pharmaceutical industry through the development and appropriate use of treatments that improve their lives.
It is pertinent that fees are paid to health professionals to reimburse them for their time and expertise in delivering services. We want to ensure that patients and others have confidence that this relationship is open and transparent. The pharmaceutical industry is taking the lead on disclosing details of payments and other benefits in kind made by industry to HCPs and healthcare organisations (HCOs).
This information is published on the database – Disclosure UK. Disclosure UK is part of a Europe-wide initiative to increase transparency between pharmaceutical companies and the doctors, nurses, pharmacists and other health professionals and organisations it works with.
