Cancer: Project Zero is the ambition to one day eliminate cancer as a cause of death – an issue that we at AstraZeneca are passionate about.

For some cancers, we are close to achieving it - but for too many, we are too far away. And, with one in two people being diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime,¹ it is clear there is very much more we need to do.

While the scale of the challenge is considerable, we are living through a golden age of science in cancer research – with the UK at the forefront of much of this.

The new Zero Essays, a collection of in-depth, expert opinion pieces from leaders in the cancer community, investigate how close we are to achieving zero cancer deaths and the steps needed to make our ambition a reality.
