AstraZeneca UK Ltd has been alerted to counterfeit material present in stock of its prostate cancer medicine, bicalutamide (Casodex®) 50mg.  This only affects stock with lot number 65520.  AstraZeneca is working to ensure all patients receive genuine AstraZeneca-produced bicalutamide 50mg tablets and therefore have actioned a recall of all stock bearing the lot number 65520.  The lot number can be found at the bottom of the strip of tablets.  If you are in possession of these tablets bearing lot number 65520 please return them to your pharmacist, who will replace them with genuine AstraZeneca stock.

Pharmacists, hospitals and dispensing doctors should contact the AstraZeneca Customer Services Team on 01582 837837 to discuss the return of all affected bicalutamide 50mg stock.
