We appreciate that going to university requires dedication, commitment and of course financial assistance.  We support a number of different sponsorship and bursary programmes.

AstraZenca Chemistry Bursary Programme
This year we are offering students working towards a first degree in chemistry £1,000 for each year of their studies. AstraZeneca is offering this financial support to young people starting their studies at universities across the UK.

There will be 50 awards of £1,000 a year for the length of the course (3-4 years). They will be available to students at 23 universities: Bath, Bristol, Cambridge, Durham, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds, Leicester, Liverpool, Imperial College London, Loughborough, Manchester, Nottingham, Oxford, Reading, Sheffield, Southampton, Strathclyde, Sussex, UMIST, University College London, Warwick and York.

To qualify for an award, you must have an A or B grade at Chemistry A-level (or Higher equivalent), be registered on a BSc/MChem chemistry course (or equivalent) and maintain a reasonable level of performance (2:1 or above).

Year In Industry
AstraZeneca are pleased to support the Royal Academy of Engineering Best Programme and have been involved for some years with the Engineering Education Scheme, Headstart and Year in Industry.

There are some university sponsorship available to students who are recruited into Engineering, Manufacturing and Pharmacy placements at AstraZeneca through the Year in Industry Scheme.

BSc (Hons) Chemical and Pharmaceutical Science (University of Sunderland)AstraZeneca offers a £4,000 support package to a limited number of students working towards a first degree in chemical and biological sciences at the University of Sunderland.

Applicants need to demonstrate that a bursary award will be a key influence in their decision to take up a place at the university.  Students who are in receipt of an Education Maintenance Allowance (EMA), or applicants where the family income does not exceed £20,000 are encouraged to will be deemed eligible.

The scheme is available for applicants for university places on the BSc (Hons) Chemical and Pharmaceutical Science full-time undergraduate programme starting in September 2004 and 2005.
