What did you do before your current role?
I had been working as Account Analyst/Accounting Administrator in the Nordic team for 2 years and before those 1.5 years in Accounts Payable as an Accounting Administrator.
Why did you choose AstraZeneca?
It is a global well-known company and also they needed Nordic speakers!
What does your job involve?
I work as a Country Accountant for Nordic markets. My work involves reporting and controlling month end reporting and reconciliations.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
The challenging work environment and independence.
Whats the most challenging aspect of your role?
Accuracy and meeting deadlines.
In what ways do you feel that your team is leading edge?
We are enthusiastic and are always challenging the status quo.
What makes a great Country Accountant in your opinion?
Accurate/detailed, timely, has good/great accounting knowledge or always willing to learn more. Being a real 'people person' helps as you need to be in contact with many people.
What skills do you need to be successful?
People skills, team player, and up-to-date with the finance world.
What do you enjoy most about working for AstraZeneca?
I have always had a good support from AZ in my work and studies and the pay is quite good.
Whats the trait you most admire in other people?
Honesty.
What general advice would you give someone about their career?
Be focused and honest. If you have a goal to work for, then make sure you are ready to put in the effort to achieve your goals.
If you were not a Country Accountant,what would you be?
I would be a journalist for a travel magazine. Not that I know anything about writing an article...but I love travelling!
